Concept: Immersive sim where you play as a D&D style wizard. You have a sturdy stick for hitting people with, but your scrawny body means that it does minimal damage; all of your real interaction with the world is done by casting spells. But the magic system is Vancian, and you have to, at every safe place where you can rest, choose which spells to memorize and how many castings of each spell to memorize. Every spell has baseline utility in combat, but you don't have enough spells per day to actually fight your way through the levels, so you have to use the environment and know the non-combat utility of all the spells to actually survive, using stealth and cleverness. You are also bad at stealth (you are a wizard) but you can cast Invisibility, Minor Illusion, etc.

There are locked chests throughout the levels that you can only open by using up one of your spell slots to memorize Knock. Inside you will often find magic weapons you have no proficiency with, but which might have creative uses.
