I'm trying to figure out why I'm enjoying The Curse when I've historically bounced off Nathan Fielder's past work and a lot of cringe comedy or cringe comedy adjacent work and I think it's the pacing. I think a lot of Awkwardness Cinema like this likes to linger for a long time on things in order to ratchet up the squirming, but I personally just get bored. I wouldn't say The Curse is a relentless thrill ride or anything but it has a willingness to move on from its beats.
