I do actually have a bunch of surplus key switches and caps lying around so you know if I only bought a $300 3D printer and a $80 soldering iron and a $60 microcontroller and two different types of wire I could just assemble that into a functioning custom keyboard, and I really really need to put that fact out of my mind because my brain perceives that as "value" that I am "leaving on the table"
