I'm going to wait for a few patches with Pacific Drive to see if perf improves (and also I think it's not quite what I'm in the mood for, atm; what I've played feels really promising but I just need to be in a different brainspace) so I think I will try out a game I've been threatening to try out for years but have thus far avoided because of its perma-early access status: My Summer Car

I am trying to take this game as it comes and not look at a guide but I think this may be one of those games where that's basically an unintended mode of play... I don't think my reasoning of "maybe if I get on my moped and ride around the town has a library or something where I can read up on how to restore a 1970s eastern european shitbox" is going to work out

no shame in looking up a guide on how to build the engine and car, it's definitely going to make your life a lot easier and you'll still have plenty of fun having accidents and troubleshooting it later on when things start breaking. also a sidenote is that it's a 70s japanese shitbox! Honestly as far as cheap 70s cars go I bet the datsun cherry is like a high end vehicle compared to something like a trabant.
