the concept of the Dune MMO is so funny to me. what exactly are we mining for gameplay, here. the featureless expanses of sand? the tedium of patrolling alongside a spice crawler for hours? the absurd rules of engagement everyone in the Dune universe observes?

Star Citizen style total simulation, you have to spend three months grinding literjons to go on an expedition into the worm sands, where you will probably lose your character by failing the hours-long unrhythmic walking minigame

Honestly, I would love a game about exploring a vast desert, occasionally coming across interesting landmarks and towns and the like.

Sable comes close, but not quite - it's deserts feel too small and filled with things.
