The primary function of the word Lore is to imply disposability; "that stuff I don't have to read or pay attention to"
if you're putting things that you encourage players to ignore in your game maybe consider having more interesting things in your game instead
God, seriously. I particularly don't even like to use the word 'lore' in a player-facing way in paratext like official Failbetter blog posts, etc.
If you're looking for a word you can use in UI to mean "here's some more in-universe information about this", consider 'story' or 'background'
