this is good but man i do not like the idea of big media companies like vox realising they can spin off brands like secret base, let them look like independant creators for a while then stick them on patreon.
Their Dave Stieb series was amazing. It was about a guy I'd never heard of on a team I don't follow in a sport I barely care about. But I was riveted.
No one should be able to get away with "Surprise! Here's an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT MINI-DOCUMENTARY in the MIDDLE of our documentary!", but the Dave Stieb series pulls it off amazingly.
