tbh even leaving aside the absolute clown shoes streamer shit I'm going to say that it's an exceptionally bad idea to offer 30% of your total revenue on your finished game to a "publisher" in exchange for ONLY QA testing and "platform relations". No guaranteed marketing spend? No funding? Fuck off imo. This is literally free money for them, they are putting zero skin in the game

I think the unstated thing is the implicit idea that if you sign with this publisher, then some big-name streamer will shill your game on stream – and this is supposed to be, essentially, the 'marketing spend.' It's kind of an open question what openly shilling games they're funding will do for/to the 'authenticity' these dipshits prize so much.
There's a kind of more sinister side to this, of course, which is the other implication: That if you sign with this publisher, you won't get shit on and harassed by noted scumbag asmongold or his buddies.
I can't imagine anyone I have pre-existing respect for would take this dumb deal, and I realize I say this a lot these days, but if you sign with these mfers you are dead to me.
