I did it that way, but yeah I'm also wondering if there's an "intended" route that's less of a nightmare because holy shit
Yup. I got a few armor fruits first so I could tank a few hits and focus on the platforming, when I beat it.
I managed to do this with an animal head warp and it was much easier. Still demanding but much less than the direct way
Oh I know about the animal heads. I can't even imagine trying to do it without the animal heads.
I had the animals heads and it didn't even cross my mind, then my roommate did it with the heads and I just had to laugh. For sure my least favorite part of the crit path other than the last boss, even if it only took me 3-4 tries. Just inherently not exciting.
