as far as i can tell, cohost allows anchors with name tags, it just puts user-content- in front of them. so the above works

also, before you do this: if two people on your timeline have the same ID, youll get collisions, so prefix your IDs with a random string, UUID etc. to avoid collisions :)

I think you could also make a tree like interaction where clicking something replaces the whole post, with a back button, using the details/summary overlay trick that @noa used for the visual novel style chost.
