if you're curious i can share what i have for the au so far in the readmore. it's long i'm sorry i like talking about my stuff
so i decided that tau is mostly left alone during the entire events by most factions because no one wants to fuck with the guy who can turn into a fucking giant beast (albeit not with any control)
harumi isn't the exact same as canon she's less sure of what she's doing and she becomes even more unsure when fully learning about tau mostly because he seemingly adopts her and she doesn't want to be the reason a BUNCH of people die (if anyone tau cares about gets hurt he WILL harm whoever did it)
