I'm being serious -- it doesn't have to be pretty or modern. Embrace 90s web design if you want!

Export your FA gallery, watchlist, and favourites if you haven't done so already, because we don't know how long the site's going to stick around right now. Reach out to people elsewhere, here on Cohost, over on Bluesky and Mastodon, consider joining Discord servers if it comes to it, just don't lose each other.

But building your own website is fairly easy -- you don't have to have databases, though they do make it easier to just add new art and not have to worry about reorganising pages after. Self-hosting is by far the cheapest option for a bit of extra work, as you only have to pay for the domain name (~Β£10 a year for mine) and a bit of extra electricity for the server; use a small, efficient computer for this, like a Raspberry Pi, unless you're expecting a lot (and I mean a lot) of visitors.

NeoCities is free, and great if you just want a link page or you don't have all that much art. nekoweb is another alternative.

Bring back webrings, too. Link to your friends' sites, and have them link back to you in turn. Build your own little community.

THIS SO MUCH
There's so much you can host on a site that's entirely owned by you
Little communities made from webrings are great
Bring back the era of making your own website!!!
