Like don't get me wrong there's times where people need it for news immediately
But two things on my mind RN are how quickly misinformation can spread usually due to right-wing fucknuts, and how the drama on there can obscure the truth about shit.
Had a grudge against retroarch for a while due to reading a Twitter thread talking about how the lead dev might've harassed Near, the person responsible for SNES Emulation, then I learned recently through a SNES discord literally dedicated to Nears work that the lead dev of retroarch and Near were apparently on good terms before Near died. Like granted they weren't always on rosy times but, they had discussed a variety of topics and were on good terms and shit. Ntm someone who knew Near saying that they wouldn't have been happy about their death being used to harass the devs as a whole.
(Doesn't change the fact that the lead dev is an ass but I digress)
That all has been stewing in my head for a bit but RN I'm thinking on how easy it is for Twitter to just, let anything be said.
I guess that's the problem with social media as a whole, it's easy to have shit just, come to you in the worst ways possible, to rot and poison your brain and shit. How easy it is to take things out of context.
Twitter is a constant gas fire that burns you if you touch it. It's death can't come any sooner.
Don't often get serious like this on here but like I said it's kinda been on my mind for a bit, comedy will come back soon lol
okay gonna post one last thing about this twitter stuff on my brain
I remember when the shit with Marilyn Manson came out and it was the most unsurprising thing in the world, someone tried to drag Trent Reznor's name through the mud on twitter due to the fact that Marilyn Manson had a autobiography that mentioned Reznor at one point and tried to have him privvy to events in it.
Despite the fact that Trent Reznor has said hundreds of times throughout the years that Marilyn Manson lied so much and so hard about the events of the book, was offended by the book when it released, and the fact that he had disliked Manson for over 20 years.
So that's also a thing that has me realizing just how dumb twitter is-- like yeah i already knew that but yaknow
