Legit, i was trying to think how to write a similar post last night and couldnt figure out how best to word it. Partially because of anxiety around how people who engage in the kind of water-muddying mentioned above will look at any kind of criticism around how the conversation around pedophilia has been misused and weaponized and, predictably, just call you a pedophile!
The way some people even in ostensibly leftist/queer circles talk about "pedophiles" sounds almost identical to Qanon-types at times and we REALLY need to reckon with that. Needless paranoia, made worse by muddying/expanding definitions of a word that needs to have a very specific meaning opens us up to being vulnerable to state overreach and witch trials.
