here are some of the plants currently flowering where i live (urban northern england), from left to right:
- lesser celandine (ficaria verna), a type of buttercup with long pointed yellow petals and dark, spade-shaped leaves
- wood anemone (anemone nemorosa), which has delicate star-like flowers with long yellow stamens in the middle and jagged-looking leaves
- red dead nettle (lamium purpureum), a non-stinging nettle with pink hooded flowers and fuzzy leaves that are often purple at the top of the plant
