Just about every tetrapod, from Dimetrodon right down to us, has the same basic bone structure, just with wildly different proportions and soft tissue coverings, and I think that's kind of amazing
...and then there's whatever the hell ichthyosaurs had going on
I can do a lot with skin and connective tissue, maybe slow-cook in a flavorful liquid until they soften, then char to improve the texture? I guess it's still a terrible bone-to-consumable ratio but you can probably get a sweet deal on bulk paddles direct from an icthyosaur butcher
that's like, basically bone aggregate with a flesh matrix at that point
