Drawing is cool
I had my math test but jeez, it was a toughie
Frontloaded with hard questions, wasnt able to finish all da questions, one had to walk the plank
I’m having a friend come over to my house tomorrow and im real excited!!! ☺️♥️
let me post some links and writings to recommend the things ive drawn here
the goon - http://www.thegoon.com/
this comic is cool, its pulpy, got action and has some good horror elements
i have 5 big volumes of the comic and its a very fun readthrough, great art as well
some may find its sense of humor to be understandably a little bit crass but flipping thru these comics was a joy from back to back
skorpulac - https://aarkipel.itch.io/skorpulac
from the composer of games like spelunky and downwell, a really awesome tough game from Eirik Suhrke
pulling inspiration from 8 bit games of old like metroid, ghosts n goblins, and kid icarus, skorpulac is a short romp through a tense deadly factory of sorts, armed only with a spear and minimal health, facing deadly enemies and obstacles
the atmosphere of the game is sublime and, true to those old retro games, is very tough
while it is tough though, id say its tough in a fair way and once youre more familiar with how you move, kill, and jump, youll find yourself feeling like a badass
with only 5 smallish levels, youll find that itll take you maybe an hour or two to get thru all of them if you remain vigilant against these tough odds
all in all, its a wonderful game that exudes atmosphere and leaves you wanting more
and its also free!
screened - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsAvBC9cNnW4AqzpVgDlU2Q
sadly mostly wiped from the internet due to buyouts and management shenanigans, screened was a website that was part of the ill-fated Whiskey Media group of websites (including such names as Giant Bomb and Tested)
much like a band that puts out one or two amazing albums before fading away into the dark, whiskey media's candle blew bright for a few years before the websites in that group were scattered to the four winds, each to lead their own storied histories
im listening to these screened videos right now and they are very chill, they are also the only archive of these videos i can sort of find out there
matt rorie and alex navarro, among other friends, tell you about the movies of the current and of the past (current being the early 2010s since that was when the site was running)
anyways, i hope you enjoyed me doing this lil writeup about some of the things i drew on here :>
