Some questions:

  1. Did you account for the fact that a given sample user may have a follower demographic that skews towards a specific region? i.e. An american user may have a following that skews towards other americans.
  2. Did the sample user distribute posts evenly throughout the day? Or did they only post during e.g. daytime hours? I would postulate that the number of interactions on a given post is related exponentially to the recency of the post
  3. Did the sample user ensure that the quality of their posts stayed consistent to normalize for the fact that "bad posts" may be likely to generate more notifications from "the haters"?

I never get tired of math posts that contain phrases like “it is trivially solveable”, “the proof is left as an exercise for the reader”, “as can easily be shown”, and so on. As a one-time math major and occasional math dilettante, I’m so flattered that you have such faith in me.
