Oh shit, they made these work and I have a bazillion of these now.
This is the only one I don't want to go on about at length: I enjoy adventure games and visual novels but I tend to play games a) as wind-down before bed or b) as something for my hands to do while I'm editing audio, and so both of these make for very bad fits with games that do require some cognitive function or to focus on masses of text while also trying to process myriad vocal tracks. When I have a free day, I try to dig into stuff from this genre but also I've started so many and then if they sit too long it becomes an uphill battle to remember what the hell I was doing in any if I have that time to return.
Here is a list of games I've had installed for ages and still not finished in this genre alone, to give you an idea of how bad I am at this: Danganronpa, the Fate fan translation, Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor, Heaven Will Be Mine, Higurashi chapter 2, Kentucky Route Zero, Ladykiller in a Bind, Oxenfree, Phoenix Wright Trilogy, Umineko (Queston Arcs), and World of Horror. I do not dislike any of them thus far! But I also just haven't found the urge to sit down and lock myself into one for more than 15-30 minutes at a time.
