Sometimes my brain just gets distracted while I'm doing repetitive work, and what results is going off on a mental tangent for about five to ten minutes so that I suddenly realize I've got this fully formed concept I have no idea what to do with? And then I have the same two-step process every time: "should I commission art of this?" and then "this horrible idea is not worth the monetary cost."
I told you that story to tell you this one. Did you know that the ragtime mouse cop in a museum game Mappy had sequels? A lot of sequels? Because the last of them was the Famicom-exclusive Mappy Kids, wherein Mappy's son is trying to get a bunch of money by working odd jobs and robbing chests in weird platformer levels so he can marry another mouse girl. None of the Mappy Kids have names, to my knowledge.
Anyway when I was done taking a walk I had somehow conceived of an all-mouse All in the Family reboot with retired incredibly-unpleasant Micro Police officer Mappy Bunker, his failson child and wife living under their roof, and also for some reason mob boss cat Goro is just their neighbor next door like Wilson on Home Improvement.
