As someone going to college who at one point worked two part time jobs at the same time. Uh. You suffer, tbh! Which sucks and is really bad and I've been there. You literally just slog through it and it sucks. I would always have to make sure to balance my course loads with a few easier classes so that I would have time to focus on the harder ones even with work.

The fact that one of the part time jobs was at the college also helped.

I can't wait to graduate!! I did my best to not fail courses to make sure I would be free of college as soon as possible. If I succeed this semester, the next one will be better and then graduated in December 2024. Hoping I don't lose my mind until then!

And yes, slogging through it... basically what I am doing for a while now. I feel tired and sad all the time because I need to study during my precious weekends if I don't want to fail β”—( T﹏T )β”›

But I'm curious now, we don't have part time jobs in colleges here where I live (at least not in technology/engineering?), how was it like?

So close!! Hopefully you can make it through to Dec 2024 and get out by then. It's only one more semester, so hopefully...! And hopefully it's not as bad as this semester. I hate when it comes to studying on weekends (it's a nightmare).

I ended up working as a student tutor at the college I go to. Considering I tutor math, it at least lines up with my minor, so there's something...? I'd work in IT, but they laid of all their student workers recently, so that's out.

But working as a tutor is nice tbh. If no one scheduled me I'd still get paid and I could work on some schoolwork of my own. And it was nice to actually be able to help some other students pass their classes while I was at it. I'd get a good chunk of work done during those hours.

I'm 1000% fingers crossed! Can't wait to be just a girly gal who likes painting in my weekends.

I'm not sure but I think tutoring here isn't paid (but again, not sure haha) or they get paid almost nothing. I actually never asked for tutoring or to tutor someone, because I am 1. too shy and 2. too dumb to tutor someone lmaooo

But I'm happy to hear it worked for you! If I go to another college in the future where I don't feel the dumbest person ever I might consider it.

IT is hard! I felt sometimes like I knew too little and everyone else is a genius, but I just learn very slowly when everyone else learn too quick. The fact that I spent a while working in another field where I couldn't actually do much related to my undergraduation made me kinda rusty.

I'm thinking about changing careers tho (maybe Data -> Backend? Not sure). Are you a fullstack developer? I'm lowkey deducting from your profile haha

LMAO can't blame you!! It's been so long since I've been able to do anything art related myself... I miss it... I used to paint and do digital art, but now I'm so busy and occasionally tired that I don't bother

I felt really stupid tutoring at first too, honestly. It's something that takes time to like, get used to? I was constantly worried I would say something stupid and then feel like an idiot, but the people who come for tutoring are usually pretty nice so it's not nearly as bad.

IT is hard!! Honestly one of the reasons I kind tipped away from it. That, and I feel like if I was constantly fixing tech issues I would grow bored too quickly. I love computers! I cannot handle being asked for the 20th time that day how to reset a password!

And yeah I'd probably call myself fullstack. I just find new things that I can do with computers and latch onto it like a koala. I like backend more, but unfortunately if you make a project it often has to have a front end component...! Funny how that works...!
