I can't help but laugh: my company only thought about using alt text on pictures because I mentioned it could help with SEO.
I remember talking about using video subtitles before. Nothing. We only made the website less clunky because of bandwidth issues, else it would be still shitty.
They never fully cared about video subtitles, but if alt text will help them rank better then "it's going to happen!!"
So ranking better is more important than giving users a great experience? I see...
Honestly I'm glad I low-key tricked them into writing alt text, tho
