oh but first you need to create an account. and sign up for the newsletter. yes, that is mandatory. and verify the email address. okay, now that you've verified the account, you can try to download it again, at which point the free plugin will be added to your cart, and then (after entering your full billing address for the non-payment) you can then checkout, and then you'll find a link in your email (after an unspecified amount of time). when you click on that link, you'll be prompted to download our proprietary plugin downloader program, which is The Best Way To Download Our Plugins, alongside the fifteen other proprietary downloaders you have. okay now you have to log in to the downloader too. okay now you can go to the "products" tab, which will have one single entry for the free plugin, and then you can download it. but it's literally just an "install" button with no options, so then you have to stop it half way through and dig through the menus to try to find the "install location" path so you can set it to something sane, and now you can try installing it again. then just load the plugin in the DAW of your choice, and then log in to your account again in the plugin itself, and then you're good to go! it's that easy! also you'll need to authorize your license for this free plugin using iLok, for some reason.
