Seconding this. I see the bit about OpenSearch at the bottom of the page but it's a bit beyond me to figure out how to implement that.
Actually, I figured it out!
- Open Firefox on iOS
- Tap the hamburger menu in the bottom-right and go to Settings
- Go to "Search" and tap "Add Search Engine"
- Set the title as "Google Web"
- paste the following into the URL section:
https://www.google.com/search?q=%s&udm=14
- Save, and set the Default Search Engine to "Google Web"
