I spent far too long debugging this, but I managed to get the slider working without too many hacks. I posted the user script here if anyone wants to try it. I make no guarantees regarding the quality.
EDIT: i have now actually installed it and yeah this is a game changer. must have script
oh it might not work fully when people post multiple clips in one go. very nice though!
yeah, i noticed that shortly after i posted it. i'll probably fix it later today.
