i like how zhe yinglets of cohost have kinda just accepted communal nap piles as A Zhing Yinglets Do. zhere's nozhing about zhis in zhe comic afaik, we just know zhey sleep often. but if you're gonna be sleepy you might as well do it in a cuddle pile, so
having asked Val about this: it is, in fact, a thing they do! they also have this sort of quick-to-wake-but-quick-to-sleep thing they do, where if one wakes up and needs to get out from the middle of the pile, the others can half-awakely make room for them to get out, then go right back to sleep.
it helps that each nap cycle only lasts an hour, and they have to do that four times a day, too
