she's a skiff! the open species made by @Giik! shes a racing skiff designed for the very highest-speed competitions, fitted with after-market (and under-the-counter) parts to suit!
more on her in the future!

@androidGirlthing

this is what she looks like at speed! lets go over a couple of her features :3

  1. extremely bright beams for seeing far enough ahead that she has time to avoid obstacles before slamming into them. bright enough to temporarily blind a human at full blast
  2. thruster meant to help drive a military transport. she's never asked how her mechanic got hold of this, and figures what she doesn't know can't hurt her. the thing is powerful enough to send R5A2 straight upwards at the proper angle, but she's mostly only interested in horizontal velocity
  3. the blades attached to her legs dig into the sand and provide far more stability than the skis on their own, and as a bonus the sand sharpens them enough to be used against unarmored biologicals. the skis are stiffer than normal in order to provide more protection in the event of a collision. this also makes her a couple inches taller than most skiffs, since her legs dont bend as much
  4. straight pipe exhaust. no performance benefit, no race advantage, she's just LOUD
  5. arm thrusters are typically swapped for normal claws outside of racing, but while skimming they provide valuable steering, balance assistance, breaking force, and air time.
  6. blank space on R5A2's chassis! your logo could be here if you sponsored her! please! maintanence is expensive!

in reply to @androidGirlthing's post:

no. at racing speeds, arm thrusters are far more valuable for steering than forward thrust. if anything, during long straightaways she'll point her arms straight downwards and her main thruster straight backwards. for moving bipedally, she usually has normal skiff claws attached so she can interact with things, and can still assume race posture, but with less control at high speeds
