zola is good until you find something frustrating and then you realize how much of a pain in the ass it is to patch it
in my case, i found the syntax highlighting to be significantly lacking. which is why i pulled a 180 and went back to JS so i could use vscode's highlighter :(
yeah i looked at it in late 2020 but it seemed pretty inextensible and i wanted something that i could duct tape gemtext onto because that overlapped with my brief gemini era. turns out interpreted languages are nice sometimes
