i was checking something and it looks like codeberg's fork of gitea, forgejo, is an iceweasel type of fork, rather than, like, a good idea. and it looks like woodpecker, the fork of drone, is an emby/jellyfin type of fork.

god, emby is hilarious. ok so.

in the beginning, there was Plex. and it was open source, and it was fine. but then it was no longer quite as open source, and there were commercial offerings, so there was a fork, Emby. and it was still open source, and it was fine. but then it too was no longer quite as open source, and there were commercial offerings, so there was a fork, Jellyfin. so far Jellyfin is still open source but you never know. you really do either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain (trying to pay the bills makes you a villain)
