one of the itches i have that won't go away is trying to use Rust in places it's not yet ready to be used. at one point i was thinking of trying to bring Rust to random hobby OSes, or Wii homebrew development, but that was a while ago and I was discouraged by the state of Rust porting so i successfully moved on to doing.. honestly i dont remember what i moved on to instead
unfortunately it is Back and it is Worse. because as previously mentioned i have been watching too much Ben Eater, and now i am striving not to rewrite the Arduino EEPROM programmer in Rust. despite Rust on Arduino seeming not to be all that well supported.
thankfully i am only barely tempted to try to compile Rust for the 6502 or the ad-hoc 8-bit computer. but unfortunately i am still like 0.5% tempted.
and my first reaction to some other youtuber writing tetris on bare metal x86 in C will probably not surprise you. nor will the fact that i never did anything about that
i think maybe, regardless of my efforts to the contrary, i am fated to be an agent of carcinization. every platform must become crab
