the nice thing about conceptual art is sometimes you don't actually have to make it because simply describing it is good enough. An Oak Tree, for example, would still make me go "oh that's neat" if it didn't exist and only its Wikipedia page existed. how true this is varies somewhat - One and Three Chairs, for example, is probably worth seeing - but if the artistic impact of a Rothko painting can be entirely absent from a mere description of the art, it stands to reason that the opposite can be true as well.
the unfortunate thing is that it's easier to notice things that are actually created. if An Oak Tree didn't exist, it would be absurd for it to have a Wikipedia page in the first place.
there is a piece of conceptual art I thought of a month ago, but actually creating it is proving to be more difficult than I had hoped, or at least intimidating enough that I gave up. so now I am trying to figure out whether I should hold out and make the thing or give up and post the concept.
