not only does my USB wifi dongle I just bought suck (packet loss spiking at 100%, ping spiking at 4000ms), but when I turned my Ethernet back on, the shitty powerline setup just kinda refused to exist at all. I rebooted and that seems to have fixed it, which is bullshit because I tried disabling and enabling the Ethernet adapter and that didn't work

I was so excited to have 250MiB/s instead of like 30 MiB/s but apparently I can't actually have that because somehow "wifi that actually works" hasn't been invented yet

I have been needing to go get a reputable wifi adapter for most of the year and I was so fucking proud of myself for actually doing it but nope lmao I get nothing I can't have nice things

it's a tp-link archer t3u plus that let me down today. i spent the first half of january having terrible wifi on two different no name adapters i already had, until i gave up and moved my pc downstairs so i could ethernet directly to the router, which i did until i got my current powerline setup. but i went for cheap powerline adapters that are too slow, so i have spent the whole year assuming my problem was the no name usb wifi adapters. microcenter didn't have any pcie wifi + bluetooth adapters in stock, so i went with usb wifi so i wouldnt have to open my case and fuck with things
