i do agree that we should probably not be doing this instead of just designing formats that are Actually For Still Image but it's strange that it's seemingly the closest one of these "why don't we just" type ideas one might think of as a layperson to actually not being a bad idea
well, it technically works, much like Motion JPEG technically works
