I think cohost’s best bet, aside from third party advertisements, is to produce an initial line of company characters. I think ASSC should strongly consider not only this but producing things like stationary, accessories, and clothing, among other things. I think they should really look at what kind of reasonable quality products they could produce for a line of company characters. This site is not making money, no social media site is making money off of social media alone. Facebook doesn’t sell social media they sell Oculus Quest 2. I think if they really believe in the longevity of cohost.org then they need to do something akin to this (seriously committing to and selling something other than social media).

Eggbug is a golden goose. I’m hoping they’re gauging something like this with the initial plushie product. My wife doesn’t give a shit about this site but likes eggbug. I like eggbug. I generally hate western design sensibilities and I like eggbug. I see eggbug constantly on this site. I see constant user generated content of eggbug. Eggbug is a site wide meme. Eggbug I think could be a big money maker, cohost should make more eggbugs.

Eggbug and friends. Think about it. Rotate it in your mind.

in reply to @YuushaRuby's post:

i remember a post going around a while ago that was about the “cohost bestiary” that started with eggbug and tagslug, and had just a truly ridiculous amount of entries in it. i would love if assc had a roster of little fellas to market. we’re all posting on Eggbug And Friends’ Website

also back when the first “we’re pretty much bankrupt but Dont Worry About It :yeah:” post dropped and people were brainstorming revenue generation, i came up with the idea of “what if there was a sitewide eggbug online pet a la tamagotchi or neopets that people could pay to dress up or feed or add enrichment to its terrarium” and i still like that idea personally though i have no clue if it’d be worth it monetarily on the backend

yeah @lori early on had the idea of site adoptables and stuff akin to gaia online, cohost has a large amount of furries that I'm sure would be on board with that

But to more importantly solve their $1 million dollar debt issue I think real life items would be best because they could possibly gain broader appeal outside of just cohost users if they can manage a character line and market it well

however, they could always do both :D
