People are talking about the latest John Wick sequelitis, so I'mma reiterate my idea that the series are effectively straight-up wainscot fantasy. All the assassins are Fae. They have weird rules and weird money and they look like people and they clearly live somewhere like and adjoining the real world, but it's all kinda wrong and weird and they have a whole deal with inscrutable unbreakable oaths and a culture of trickery surrounding snookering people with the oaths they unwisely enter, which they all regard as outright Cheating but nonetheless.
Also the first one is the only one that was actually any good and if the series trajectory holds, 4 is probably dire.
(Also-also the internet's favourite stainless stan-daddy Reeves is apparently great pals with some Hollywood firearms trainer who is literally a civilian-executing cop, which can go on the pile with him really, outspokenly loving working with the literal neo-Nazis at CDPR on Cyberterf 2077.
oh he's so soft and genuine and lovely uwu!!!!!!! ๐)
