I'm sure the pacing is all kinds of janky, and what's there will need a few passes of editing, but the elves thing is now down to one instance of "TBD", and really the only thing that can go in that gap is a breezy paragraph or two going "and so a couple of months passed in much the same way, until the rest of the plot happened."
