Oh boy I sure am looking forward to people uncritically repeating corporate propaganda regarding the Dutch supermarket "slow lane" thing for ever, it's so fun that people who can recognise "Think Of The Children" as a lazy propaganda rubric are incapable of generalising to "Think Of The Cuddly Old Ladies :)", and that everybody knows that abusive customers are one of the most heinous factors in service jobs but nobody actually gives a shit about companies deliberately cultivating them, and that everyone abstractly deplores the impoverished lives people lead but will still seal-clap for corporations treating "social lives for old people" like public toilets: a human need that, by their corporate destruction, can capture customers with a gatekept, inaccessible, inadequate but monetised ersatz replacement
