My most tragically hilarious "gaming on linux" story remains trying to play Victor Vran earlier this year. It shipped a native linux version! Which won't launch any more because it links against some library or other that did a breaking 1.x → 2.x version jump in the meantime because the design of 1.x was insecure, or some such routine thing!
And because it shipped a native linux version, I couldn't work out how to get Steam to download me the Windows build to try under fucking Proton :)
