Depressing as hell watching someone do a high-effort shitpost about what specifically masculine-gendered positive traits exist and then see literally all the identifiable men in the comments have The Point whistle merrily by, miles above their heads, because nobody spelled it out for them Fisher-Price Baby's First Idea style. So here's the Fisher-Price, not that they'll see it.
The entire idea of personality traits being divided up by gender, their presence or absence forming part of a checklist of Correct Performance, is an inherently conservative one. It's the stuff of stand-up comedians baldly going "lol women can't drive, everybody clap". It leers that men are like this and women are like that lol amirite; and also outliers are deviants and ontological crimes and will be shipped to the camps.
You cannot rehabilitate any of this by dry-erasing the specific things listed in the Entirely Disjoint (Or Else) Gendered Sets Of Traits Venn diagram circles and brightly brainstorming less-toxic individual substitutions for them. You cannot rehabilitate a worldview that holds up an ontology and attempts to refute the demonstrable fact that it's a crude model and not reality itself via violence to its outliers.
You cannot have a Correct Gender Performance Checklist for Progressive Men, because the entire purpose of grading identity performance is to create the category of those with a failing grade. The checklist exists to target people for violence. The checklist is irredeemably violent. You inherently cannot progressively replicate this!
Anybody sincerely engaging with the idea that there are positive traits specifically and only displayed by Men, by which Men can be identified, to which Men can and must aspire but Leftwing Actually, has uh work to fucking do?
