yeah look it's certainly...well-intentioned...to think that petitioning the Canadian government could turn Canada into a haven for trans people from other Anglophone countries.
I do, however, have to gently reality check anyone whose expectations are "wow amazing! well that fixed things," because
- the Canadian government would have to agree and enshrine it in law first, and that's something of an extensive "if"; Canada is exactly the same kind of violent capitalist settler state that the US is
- could I interest you in some intersectionality, maybe? Because trans people are more likely than average to also have been disabled by a lifetime of suffering, discrimination, and discrimination-driven poverty, and Canada explicitly doesn't accept disabled immigrants
Don't let me stop you from putting your voice behind it, if you're Canadian! Just, you know, I don't want anyone to imagine that putting your voice behind a petition or two is going to be sufficient, because I'm sorry to tell you that it categorically won't be
