It's sad to say goodbye to this place, but I think the decision ASSC made was extremely understandable and practical. It will also be an end to a somewhat grim cloud of uncertainty that really kept hanging over the service and I can only imagine made working on the platform harder. I hope the cool folks on the team find new work, and perhaps more relaxing work too.

Hey folks.

I was commissioned by ASSC (the makers of Cohost) in 2023 to make special Eggbug emoji for Cohost Plus! subscribers.

Since the announced closure of the platform, folks have been asking me about the fate of these emoji.

Since I have the rights to do so and I think ASSC would be cool with this (tbh, I have not asked them because they've been extremely busy even when they haven't been facing unemployment and the closure of their social media platform), I have decided to make these available for the sake of preservation and future enjoyment.

They're licensed CC BY-NC-SA and are available to download on my website:

@ysaie asked:

hi!! i just wanted to ask, are the cohost and eggbug emoji sets you made free to use? no worries either way, but if i can i'd love to keep using the little guys after they turn the lights out here 💜 thanks!

I think it's probably up to ASSC whether they would want to release those publicly, or let me release them publicly (which I would be fine doing).
