Men are really good at coming up with excuses to avoid practicality or having fun if it means the vague threat of seeming unmanly, and seem to require products that spell it out in no unclear terms that it's safe for something for them to consume.
Here's a fucking brilliant example - Will Wright changed the codename of The Sims from Dollhouse to make management less annoyed at him for making a game that seemed like it would not work for a male audience in focus testing:
[...] Wright rebranding it internally as a "Tactical Domestic Simulator" called "Project X" to evade the lasting sense of focus-tested doom.
