and accidentally found out that cellulose is apparently much more digestible than you would think given the common wisdom that it's indigestible:

still no word about whether PLA is digestible so I'm almost tempted to 3D print a little pill and swallow it

Speaking from a materials chemistry perspective, maybe yes? It is basically lactic acid chained together, which if I recall correctly is broken down by lactobacillis? Which we have in our digestive systems?

In practice I don't know how fast this process would go or if there would be any potential issues caused by the chemical reaction itself.

Also my training is in chemistry, not biology or medicine lol so take this with the whole salt shaker please
