Thing is, I have so much nostalgia for getting got by that particular meme that I'll go ahead and click the link even when I know what's going to happen.
the point being that you see the link for what it is before you click it. making you ten times more likely to spot a phishing attempt before you do anything harmful to yourself.
so go ahead. enjoy rick astley. he did more to protect your personal information than any organization, browser, or set of transport protocols/mechanisms up to and including end to end encryption. lol
it's a benign but very obvious result from a deceptive link, like stepping on a land mine and then having it deploy a flag that says "bang"
