This book is good. It’s about art and transness and disability and also death and the memory of the dead. Extremely cool, creative, and well-developed “non-western” (???? I think???) fantasy world. Also a very short book!!

On the train today I sat in the middle of a bench where there are not so much five seats as five plastic shallow spots to place one’s butt. Someone sat right next to me on one side so I moved over a bit so I’m half-sitting in two different spots, now half next to someone on both sides.
So I’m reading a lesbian YA novel on the train, as you do (it’s “Last Night at the Telegraph Club”, it’s super good) and the characters start fully making out. Anyway, that’s the moment the woman on my right moves to another seat. So.
Did a freer seat open up or did she not want to sit next to some guy reading about lesbians making out?? Can’t blame her, I guess… 🥲
