I stumbled on this article about five films that were selected for a shorts program by "Frameline." I had watched "How Not to Date While Trans" so I was like, well, let's check these all out. You can watch all of them on YouTube.

How Not To Date While Trans

This is really funny film that's also really thoughtful and heartbreaking. A fourth-wall shattering film of a trans woman telling us about her dating life.
"I can't help that your dick likes me! That's between you and your willy!"
Stop what you're doing and watch it now. This film only has 4K views and I'm PISSED.

Chaac + Yum

This dialogue-less film is really pretty and transforms a meeting between two gods into a modern one between two two-spirit people at a queer club, which ends, obviously, with some BDSM. I enjoyed it but I definitely got hung up on a certain detail is not my kink, ha ha.

Valentine

What!! Jacob Tobia!! How come I haven't heard of this!! I love their memoir!
A couple go on a trip to have a hookup that includes planned Gender things, but of course things go awry.
"I wanted to enjoy this, but I can't do that for one fucking second without having to worry about how you're feeling." Very trans partner trying to figure themself out amidst an originally "cis het" relationship.
I thought this film was really interesting but I felt like I wasn't sure what the conflict of the film was until it was mostly over, but that's the joy of short films.

Grindr Baby

Youtube Link
"We were so busy talking about mindful communication and using I-statements--we didn't go over anything important!"
A polyamorous cis girl and a trans guy try to mindfully communicate about the fact that he is pregnant from a Grindr hookup. This is really funny. The dialogue is PUNCHED.

Lucky Fish

Youtube Link
Very very pretty film. Wins the "pretty" award of the five. Two girls get to know each other at the Chinese restaurant's fish tank. This one's plot is very YA and we love to see it. I'm ready for there to be a full-length version.

I didn't actually play the Sims very much! Turns out watching short films and making a post about it is enough to do! Thanks to the Sims for being the excuse I needed to try some new things.

Edit: And now I've watched a sixth short film in a new post

“Sort Of” is really good and really queer and really non-binary and really trans. We’re starting season 2 and it’s still very good. If you want messy trans characters being beautifully lit and making bad decisions this show is for you

I think this show also does a great job of showing like… queer loneliness yet autonomy vs. heterosexual family unit dysfunction. I don’t know if that makes any sense but it’s extremely Real. It’s on HBO Max
