Unrelatable games will continue until morale improves. Dr. Brain didn't just spawn an educational line for publisher Sierra. Eventually, Knowledge Adventure spun the name into its own brand of games, switching from education to a progressively more action-oriented pitch. Even the doctor was altered from an old relic to an increasingly more yassified, featureless version. For the kids, ya know?
In order of release, the increasingly less intellectual games were called:
- Dr. Brain Thinking Games: Puzzle Madness
- Dr. Brain Thinking Games: IQ Adventure
- Dr. Brain: Action Reaction
- The Adventures of Dr. Brain
Knowledge Adventure, which later rebranded as JumpStart Games, shut down last year. The only game to survive was none other than Neopets, which crawled out from under its corporate shadow to ditch NFTs (via @gamedeveloper):
