slept in until 10 AM today just to see what would happen (I was sleepy). I actually cannot tell you the last time I did that
probably a side effect of having a Double Social Day today where I saw some friends very early in the morning and very late in the day. you would expect most people to come in for comiket or hanami season, but everyone seems to have aligned on "we've done tokyo a lot, how about we come into japan in feburary and hit hokkaido for that snow festival action" and also there is a big imas live this weekend
(congrats to imas for, bafflingly, announcing an arcade all-series music game with 5 sliders and 5 keys that appears to be based on the gundam arsenal base card game hardware. they announced it ahead of their live because jaepo is also this weekend)
morning friends were staying at a hotel near an exit of tokyo station that I didn't even know existed (but that had a really cool model train diorama of the tokyo-yokohama area complete with airport, landmark tower, and tokyo tower (the diorama was at the hotel, not tokyo station)) and we had a famires breakfast together, where I tried the meat doria at gust for the first time. meat doria, as effectively Rice Pizza (not to be confused with the domino's side dish which is actually almost branded as that), gets a thumbs up from me!
evening friends I met in tachikawa to show them the classic World Game Circus, because I know how to do two social things in japan (karaoke and arcades) and they were not feeling like karaoke. they weren't music gamers (who would maximally appreciate seeing a sabin sound star cab), but they enjoyed the unique chill vibe of the place as well as a lot of the less common games, like the touhou stg and the exa arcadia cabs sporting things like cotton and nippon marathon, so I'm glad it worked out, except for the part where tachikawa was absolutely slathered in snow compared to tokyo (where it didn't really pile up). I am still hair drying my shoes this morning
