I have comical amounts of neck pain and foot soreness, which is a sign that I was walking around a ton and also glancing down at my phone too much to do flashcards or look at maps or something
so I'll keep this a little short, but I did a little daytripping today since it was a national holiday. random "extremely me" highlights:

I stopped by the new makuhari toyosuna train station today, which is a mere 3 days old and full of slightly shinier signs, flowers, and a lot of train nerds tourisming. as someone who never really did shinagawa seaside, it's nice! I am amused that I am like the 4500th person on ekimemo (foursquare but with anime girl trains) to check in there, including 200 people who somehow made it to this station over half a month before it formally opened. I wonder if you just mash "checkin" as you zoom by on your way to kaihin makuhari

kyoto katsugyu is my go-to gyukatsu place when I want to have a fancy dinner with meat and cabbage and lots of things to dip in (including curry sauce). I was surprised to see it at the food court of a mall (imagine your favorite moderately upscale restaurant showing up next to a mcdonald's and a sbarro's in america) at the same price point plus adding a cheaper gyukatsu donburi option. I was extremely hungry at the time so I may be biased but the donburi absolutely owned. it's all the parts I like: rice, meat, sauce, cabbage, too much rice because large rice is the same price. classic me

walked around trying to find a drug store and instead found an arcade with two densha de go and, for my first sighting in japan, namco's rapid river (1997). rapid river is a nostalgic one for me as it's one of the few I remember from the local mall as a young canon. I was really bad and always fell down the whirlpool
