i make indie games

unvoiced 2* in a tokyo apartment trying to weld end-of-service anime characters into playstation 1 party games

my policy around here has been "do one post a day," and thus lifeblogs are goated except when cardcaptor sakura is the vibe, apparently

but I didn't have a chance to watch any clear card yesterday due to playing 7 hours of Inscryption (hell yeah! hell yeah!!) so instead I'll do the proper and recount my golden week (or, if you play umamusu, gal week)

wednesday

I actually spent all day farming eternity sand in granblue, since I got into a groove and knew that if RNG bore out at expected rates (1 / 8hrs) I'd have enough sand to satisfy my brain for at least a few months (and god knows I'd hate to farm sand again before that)

I did get the sand but it took me all the way until it was dark outside, which was a little worse than I expected. But can confirm it's great to not have to do 1500 ewiyar raids ever again

painted my nails a forest green, which is a tough task that requires me to not really touch anything with my hands for like 90 minutes straight. as a result, I started watching umamusu s2 and I gotta say: this season goes incredibly hard so far and I love the ending of the first episode

thursday

went with a friend to fuji speedway (over 2 hours and 3 transfers away by train) to watch the super gt race! I had long been curious about what being at an actual racetrack was like, and the answer is: Extremely Loud

luckily I had some earplugs I got from a hotel many months ago, but the funny thing about sitting in a grandstand next with earplugs as cars zip by is that you can't hear your buddy talk next to you and you can't make out the Japanese over the PA enough to understand anything, so you kind of just vibe there in a loud meditative state

super gt itself is pretty cool since there's two separate classes (the lower of which, GT300, is an aural and vehicular free-for-all) so there's tons of action on the track, especially if you watch at Turn 1 at Fuji. overall it was really hard for me to follow the action further than "here's who's leading and here's the GSR car oh wait their engine blew up" but did it own? yes

friday

first planned big sight trip of GW, I went to Comitia for the first time to pick up a request for a friend. Comitia is an all-original-work doujin event, to the best of my knowledge, which means that I have absolutely no idea how it is physically organized (compared to Comiket where things are sorted loosely by work)

I didn't buy a lot and I found myself quite worn out after wandering for just 90 minutes, but I had a lot of fun scoping out new artists to follow (and rt spam in the future) and like... looking at people both 2D and 3D to kind of understand my vibes better and get outfit inspiration

saturday

off day, mostly, I spent the time doing some light shopping nearby (where I tried on some colored sunglasses after friday's inspiration. the shape doesn't quite fit my face so I'm taking it back to the drawing board) and, as a secret to you Cohosters, trying out topical free to play games

if I had to describe the few hours I spent with Tall Space UMP45, I deem call it acceptable but with the sense that all of Mihoyo game terminology feels like "likes are now florps" to me, especially since the UI and some number-ramping structures appear very Genshin in nature (another game I do not mechanically know) but all the terms are very not. so it's like two levels of "please just use normal words" to me

sunday

second big sight trip of GW! it's just got so much sights! this time was another first-time event for me, Comic1, for the sole purpose of picking up goumonsha's excellent Bocchi works and stickers. Reitaisai was also next-door, but at 2000y for entry, I opted to refrain as I will likely be attending Game Market next weekend (despite a lack of people anywhere in the world to play Japanese board games with)

Comic1 really feels like a laid-back mini-Comiket to me, which is to say all the people I know who went said they were in hell at wall circles, while I accidentally showed up late, had a breezy stroll around the inner sections sweeping up stickers and pins, and stopped by the Onimai mangaka who is just kind of chilling at the end of an aisle, offering the entire series so far for 10,000 yen (I just got the first 3 works combined for 1000y).

(also god going to doujin events makes me want to table again so bad)

Afterward, went home and played 7 hours of Inscryption, which is an excellent, excellent game that you knew I would like. Look forward to a review on that in like two days that is no more than like 100 (thinks) 300 words.
